Most of our members are model train enthusiasts; however, some of them know little about model trains. Woodworkers, mechanics, electricians, historians, decorators, gardeners, artists, and organizers will be at home here. To keep our museum functioning, there are so many things to be done that don't involve model trains. Please consider joining us if you are looking for something to stay active while engaging with others. We are a friendly group.
Our members choose what, if anything, they want to do. There are some who simply pay their annual dues to show their support for the museum.
As a member, you will;
have a vote in the operation and the growth of the museum,
have the privilege to run your personal trains on our DC and DCC layouts,
be able to access the museum 24/7,
have the opportunity to attend group activities, such as, going to train shows or other field trips, doing group projects, or simply sharing a meal,
have the ability to acquire, for a donation to the museum, any surplus model train items before they is offered to the public.
When the museum is open to the public, the members are asked:
to greet our guests,
to operate the train layouts or riding train, and
to make minor repairs to keep things running smoothly.
Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 12 PM at the museum. A reminder email is sent to the members at least two weeks in advance of the next meeting. In the email the last meeting minutes are attached.
Membership dues are as are as follows:
Adult Members pay $100 per year.
Family Membership is $150 per year.
Junior members between 14 and 17 years of age pay no dues. Instead, they are required to give four volunteer hours per month.
